About

We're a group of Human-Centered Interaction Design students and faculty. We noticed that it's hard for UX students and early career professionals to find opportunities to apply their skills in impact settings. Recognizing the desire of many UXers to make a positive impact on the world, we set out to learn more about how students and nonprofits can work together for mutual benefit. 

In response to our research, we created the Resources: UX Careers for Impact page. You can use it to browse a list of organizations that provide job boards or other tools to help you grow your UX career in social or environmental impact.

UX Residency's mission is to help UX students partner with socially driven organizations and use design thinking to solve pressing  problems. The UX Residency program is currently under redevelopment, so new program sessions are not being offered at this time. You may contact us if you're interested in future program cycles as a mentor, mentee, or impact organization.
